Facilities at Lutterworth Town Hall

The facilities at Lutterworth Town Hall comprise 2 floors connected by 2 staircases and a lift that can accommodate wheelchairs. Entry to the Town Hall from the adjacent car park is through twin double doors wide enough to take wheelchairs.

The Hansom Room, Lutterworth Town Hall

The Hansom Room on the Upper Floor has one of the best dance floors in Leicestershire.

We have available two rooms, The Denbigh Room on the ground floor, and the Hansom Room on the upper floor. The facilities provide tables and chairs, heating, catering, car parking, cleaning and maintenance. The Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s toilets are accessed from the foyer and both have disabled facilities.

Ground Floor – The Denbigh Room

The spacious foyer leads to the meeting room – the DENBIGH ROOM – which can hold around 20 to 30 people seated at tables or up to 50 people standing.

The foyer also leads to a fully refurbished KITCHEN, which is equipped with a range cooker, plumbed in-wall kettle, and double sink. Basic crockery and cutlery are also provided. The kitchen meets the necessary environmental and health requirements for the preparation and serving of food.

Upper Floor – The Hansom Room

The Upper floor – the HANSOM ROOM – is a spacious and elegant hall with a minstrels gallery. The hall has a wooden sprung floor (possibly one of the best in Leicestershire) and is ideal for dancing. The hall is decorated in a colour scheme of the Regency period chosen by the local Community College. Curtains at the large windows can be fully drawn if required.

The hall is approximately 15m long and 10m wide can accommodate over 100 people standing and smaller numbers seating, depending on the configuration and use of tables.

Tables and Chairs

Hire of the facilities includes the use of the tables and chairs. Hirers of the facilities are required to set up tables and chairs themselves, in the arrangement they require, and to return all tables and chairs to their storage areas after use. An exception to this is wedding ceremonies where tables and chairs are set up for you to your requirements and removed after the ceremony.


The Town Hall has gas-fired central heating and when the facilities are not being used the temperature is maintained at a low background level. The temperature in the rooms can be quickly increased but the cost of this heating is not included in the hire charges. There are separate meters for the Hansom room and Denbigh room, housed on the ground floor close to the lift, that are used for this purpose and take £1 coins.

Catering Arrangements

Although the Town Hall is not currently licensed local caterers can provide catering to meet a wide range of requirements from teas/coffees/buffet lunches through to formal meals /receptions with bar facilities.

Car Parking

There is ample car parking very close to the Town Hall. The small car park in the market square adjacent to the Town Hall allows a maximum of 1-hour parking – free of charge. The larger car park behind the Shambles Inn provides 30 minutes of free parking then unlimited parking at a charge.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Although the Town Hall is professionally cleaned once a week it is a condition of hiring any of the facilities that the hirer MUST leave the facility clean and tidy and take all rubbish away with them. If requested the Trustees can make special arrangements to have the facilities cleaned after an event at the hirers’ expense.

A “faults book” is available in the kitchen for hirers to record any problems or comments.
